Now, here is the thing…no matter what reason(s) you have, skin hyperpigmentation or discoloration is normal.
I have seen so many people talking about getting rid of dark inner thighs or other parts of their skin and it just breaks my heart.
Although, the obese people are the most purported to have dark inner thighs, I believe it is high time we normalize this condition.
If you are an obese person, you may be caught up in some instances where, you kind of get hard pigmentation, rough patches in between.
Biologically speaking, this sometimes can be as a result of insulin problems or PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome).
From what we generally talk about, our common knowledge that is…friction between thighs is one of the major reasons or contributor.
In general, there are a myriad of things that can make your inner thighs look dark. It happens to so many of us whether you are fat or skinny.

Reasons Why You Have Dark Inner Thighs:
1.) Chaffing – This is the friction that occurs between your thighs. They rub against each other during exercise or walking.
As a result, your skin becomes thin, itchy and discoloured with time.
2.) Hormonal Imbalance – Hormones are chemicals in our bodies produced by glands in the endocrine system.
Therefore, if there is insufficient amount or excess in your bloodstream, it becomes a health problem.
Hormonal imbalance mainly occurs in women during lactation, pregnancy or even menstruation.
3.) Medications – Your skin health or tone can experience discolouration because of taking some medicines.
They may include oral contraceptives or chemotherapy medications.
Ideally, they could be the reason behind your dark inner thighs.
4.) Obesity – Obviously, being overweight means that your thighs will rub against each other when you walk. It can cause your inner thighs to become itchy and dark.
5.) Exposure to the sun – Prolonging to be under the sun while exposing your thighs can cause you hyperpigmentation.
Melanin basically is a pigment that gives your skin its colour. Therefore, the discolouration of your dark inner thighs happens as a result of high melanin production.
How To Lighten Up Your Dark Inner Thighs.
Naturally, these remedies below can do the job best:
1.) Coconut oil and lemon mixture.
Vitamin C that is present in a lemon helps in treating hyperpigmentation while coconut oil moisturizes your skin, making your thighs soft and supple.
Mix two tablespoons of coconut oil and one teaspoon of lemon juice. Massage this onto your inner thighs for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water.
Soap is NOT recommended in this remedy as it will remove the beneficial effects of the coconut oil.
2.) Aloe Vera
Aloe vera extracts exhibit melanin aggregating effects and can help with skin lightening.
Therefore, take an aloe vera leaf and scrape out its gel. Massage aloe vera onto the affected areas to help repair and heal the skin. Leave it for 20 – 30 minutes and rinse it off. Do this once daily.
It has bleaching properties that can help lighten those thighs. Remember, lemon can remove skin impurities through exfoliation.
Cut a lemon in half and rub it on for 15 minutes. Wash it off. Lemon is drying on the skin so, avoid it giving you a scaly skin by moisturizing.
4.) Orange peel and honey
This peel has bleaching properties that can help you eliminate dead skin cells. Honey has rich natural healing properties that your skin will thank you for.
Actually, accumulation of these damaged cells contributes to having dark inner thighs.
Therefore, grate one peel of an orange and mix with one spoon of raw honey. My advice, get a “fleshy” peel. Apply the paste on your inner thighs and wash off after 15 minutes.

5.) Yoghurt mixed with oats.
Yoghurt has lactic acid that is good for your skin health whereas oats act as an exfoliant.
Mix an equal amount of yoghurt, oats and lemon juice to form a thick paste. Rub it in and leave for as long as it dries.
6.) Powdered Milk and Honey.
This mix will definitely give you the results you want. The powdered milk is significant in skin discolouration. Honey will moisturize your skin and work as a natural astringent.
Mix an equal amount of powdered milk, honey and lemon juice then apply onto your thighs.
7.) Sugar, Honey, Lemon scrub.
This scrub will help shed the dead skin cells while lightening the thighs. Mix one teaspoon of sugar, one tablespoon of raw honey, and a half teaspoon of lemon juice.
Rub this on and gently scrub in a circular motion for 10 minutes. Wash it off and moisturize.
By adhering to one of these natural remedies, you will never feel shameful of your inner thighs. The dark patches will be gone! Most have seen their desired results in two week’s time. So, work on it!
